CORD CARE

Like some of your favorite clothes, Lucky Bight cords are made of 100% cotton. While this makes them the supple, luxurious ropes we all love, it also means that they absorb sweat, skin oils, water, and dirt during play. Keep your cords clean and soft to lengthen their lifespan and make using them more fun for everyone!

WASH

Hand washing is recommended using cold water and mild detergent.

Cords may be machine washed in cold water on a delicate cycle. If washing in a machine, tie each cord into a double chain sinnet knot and place into a secure mesh laundry bag made for delicates.

Ensure your cords are rinsed thoroughly to ensure all soaps and detergents have been removed. Residual soaps and hard water will cause fibers to stiffen.

DRY

After washing, untie any knots and hang loosely to dry.

Bunched, tied, coiled, or tightly wound cords will not dry properly and may lead to mold, mildew and rot.

Do not tumble dry or apply heat to cords. A fan may be used to speed drying.

OIL

Once cords are completely dry, Lucky Bight Cord Care Oil can be used to soften any cord that may have stiffened.

Apply a small amount of Cord Care Oil to the palms of your hands.

Slowly and evenly pull the length of the cord through a loose fist to distribute oils.

You’ll feel more friction as you work down the length of the cord and the oils absorb.

Apply 2-3 more drops of oil to the hands and continue to pull the cord through until the entire cord has been treated.

Do not apply oil directly to cords! Overapplication may cause discoloration, bleeding colors, excessive wear, and deterioration.

STORE

Allow your cords to dry completely and absorb any care oil before putting them away for storage.

Cords may be stored as any rope would in a coil or braid, but Lucky’s favorite way is the double chain sinnet, also used for machine washing.

Store your cords hanging up or braided inside a Lucky Bight Cord Bag.
